Going a heritage walk early in the morning through the old city was one of my favorite things in Ahmedabad. Old town lanes were filled with colorful doors, attractive monuments, aging homes, and fascinating stories.

1. SAWMINARAYAN TEMPLE

SWAMI NARAYAN TEMPLE

I started my the walk from the beautiful Swaminarayan Temple in Kalupur, it is a Beautifully-carved Hindu temple that’s an important pilgrimage center for the Swaminarayan devotees. 

The temple is nearly 200 years old and is adorned with vivid-colored sculptures with intricate detailing.

When you get here early in the morning by 6:30 am , you will find strings of devotees bustling the temple premises and pigeons fluttering all around. Temple bells ringing to produce the most melodius background score.
